The view from the top is pretty sweet?? Last week, Texas Engineering students, leadership, alumni, donors and the more than 300 construction workers who are building the new Engineering Discovery Building gathered to celebrate the "topping out" of the structure. This gathering celebrated the halfway point of the building’s construction. ? "The Engineering Discovery Building will be the new home of the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering and the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin," said Roger T. Bonnecaze, dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering. "This building will bring students, faculty and staff together to learn, to discover and to create.?In just the first 10 years, thousands of chemical and petroleum engineering students will be educated, hundreds of patents filed and licensed, and dozens of start-ups will be created." ? Keep growing, EDB. We can’t wait to welcome you to the engineering campus in 2026!
