Zach Renstrom, general manager of the Washington County Water Conservancy District, received the Utah Water Pioneer Award for his leadership and contributions to common-sense water management in the Beehive State. “It’s a great honor,” Renstrom said. “We’re doing a lot of work down here, and it’s nice to be recognized for all the hard work we’ve done.”

The West Desert Airpark in Fairfield is home to Utah’s newest public runway. A win for Cedar Valley, Rep. Stephanie Gricius says the expanded runway will help train the next generation of pilots and expands opportunities for commercial and recreational flight.

“If someone goes through a teaching experience, they’re more likely to stay in the profession. If someone doesn’t go through a student teaching experience, there’s about a 50 percent chance they will not be teaching in 5 years," Rep. Karen Peterson said.
