Utah Center for Legal Inclusion - UCLI转发了
“If you want to diversify the legal profession, you can’t plant trees—you have to plant seeds.” — John Arthur ???? True words for any industry. Yesterday’s Utah Center for Legal Inclusion - UCLI fundraiser was a reminder: real change starts early—and with intention. Jesse Nix shared the idea for UCLI when Melinda Bowen and I were leading the Utah Minority Bar Association. Kristen Olsen joined soon after. When I left for LA, Melinda and Kristen continued to lay the foundation. Now Kaitlyn Pieper is at the helm—building with heart and vision. John Arthur, NBCT made the mission tangible—with stories from his classroom that reminded us: equity isn’t abstract. It’s personal. Then Stacy Bernal took the mic and lit the room up. John reminded us what it takes to build the future; Stacy reminded us what it takes to change the present: ???? “The problem is some of y’all are trying to sit at tables you were meant to flip.” That line. ?? Law, leadership, live events—it’s not just about having a seat. It’s about the tables we build. Because: ? Some tables aren’t worth staying at ? Some need a folding chair ? And some were always meant to be flipped (Stacy brought the fire—and Shirley Chisholm gave us the blueprint.) Here’s to the ones planting seeds—in every industry, on every stage. ??
