UTA Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

We had the honor of being invited to the 2025 UTA College of Engineering Annual Banquet last week. This event accomodated some of the outstanding research works from the respective departments in the college of engineering. We had the pleasure of representing our Multiscale Mechanics and Physics Lab (MMPL) from the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering department, where we presented on the topic titled, "Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Mechanism, Sensing, and Mitigation." It was a pleasant experience to engage in very enthusiastic discussions with and receive overall appreciating remarks from the peers and faculties around.

UT Arlington prioritizes research to ensure student success. Our aerospace engineering student, Philip Wilson, attended an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) conference. Today, we hosted Brian Kinkade (Market Development Manager, FUCHS Lubricants Co.) and Jeris Queen (Sales Engineer at Fuchs Lubricants Co.) to discuss collaboration on immersion cooling. The meeting went very well, and we have plans on working on several joint projects soon. Our launch in Seymour was a great success! We completed some L1 certifications, an impressive L3 launch, and flew our MFTV vehicle. The flight was beautiful and provided valuable insights for improvement, and we're proud of how well it performed overall. Our next launch will be next weekend and we’ll be launching some cert rockets!

The immense wealth of knowledge shared by our visitors was truly mind-boggling, and part of it took me back to my days at IBM.
