?? Exciting News! ?? I'm thrilled to share that my recent paper was accepted for presentation at the ????????-?????? ?????????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????????????? ???????????????? (?????????????????? ????????) in Nancy, France! ???? ??????????: RL-augmented MPC Framework for Agile and Robust Bipedal Footstep Locomotion Planning and Control ??????????????: Seung Hyeon Bang, Carlos Arribalzaga Jové, and Luis Sentis ????????????????: https://lnkd.in/gQgh4qR6 In this work, we investigate a novel ????-?????????????????? ?????? ?????????????????? for bipedal footstep generation. Our approach explores the ability of reinforcement learning (RL) to mitigate modeling errors inherent in simplified dynamics models without adding to the computational cost. Through this framework, we validated significant improvements in bipedal locomotion capabilities, including enhanced walking speed tracking, robustness to external disturbances, and the ability to traverse challenging terrains. I'm incredibly grateful for the support and guidance from my advisor Luis Sentis and my co-first author Carlos Arribalzaga Jové along the way. ?? ???? Thank you to everyone who joined the Texas Robotics Robot Parade, the grand finale of UT’s Year of AI! Our robots strutted their stuff down Speedway, alongside UT Mariachi and a parade of students, faculty, and researchers. We wrapped up at Gregory Gym Plaza with a robot dance to Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em (view the full dance here: https://lnkd.in/gESKeq_3), a fashion show, and robot demos. This event wouldn’t have been possible without our hardworking students, brilliant faculty, and the supportive UT staff. We’re so proud of what our community has achieved! Hook ’em! We launched what is believed to be the first program that high school students can apply directly to and hear back prior to making a college decision. The honors program will integrate students as soon as they arrive on campus into the immersive and interdisciplinary curriculum, which includes hands-on research, engineering and computer science coursework, and participation in UT’s top-ranked Texas Robotics’ events and programs. Learn more about this new program and join us on the Forty Acres: https://lnkd.in/gEHBsPVi Bill Gurley | #WhatStartsHere | #TexasAI
