The event kicked off the event with a heartfelt welcome, emphasizing the power of sharing and growth—everyone has something special to share. Engagement fosters growth, and #UTSW truly invests in that growth. A comprehensive program overview, highlighting its impact through eight BRG groups with numerous members was shared. At its core, the program thrives on commitment and communication, ensuring meaningful mentorship experiences for all participants. Yesterday evening, #UTSW Imaging Services had the privilege of presenting A Career in Medical Imaging for the STARS program (Science Teacher Access to Resources at Southwestern) at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Setting up future generations with a vision for opportunities in healthcare is critical to the future of medical imaging. From X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and echocardiography to nuclear medicine, we explored the incredible technology behind imaging and its impact on patient care. With only 90 minutes (there are many more medical imaging professions to go over), there was so much to share—but the talented students were up for the challenge! They impressed us by answering quiz questions correctly and earning prizes. It was a fun and rewarding experience to teach and showcase the exciting possibilities in our profession. The STARS initiative is dedicated to enhancing science education through immersive programs that empower teachers and students alike. STARS plays a vital role in inspiring future healthcare professionals by sparking curiosity and providing hands-on learning. The future of medical imaging is bright!???

?? Congratulations to the FY24 UTSW MRI Apprentices Graduates! ?? It's amazing how quickly time passes and how much has changed in just over a year! The growth, learning, and progression that the cohort has achieved has been a privilege to watch. The #UTSW MRI Apprenticeship is an on-the-job training program partnered with Tesla MR, Dallas College, and the U.S. Department of Labor to upskill current talent. These exceptional ladies embarked on a learning journey that stretched their minds and talents to reach a unique milestone in their lives, which is a testament to dedication and hard work. It's heartening to see these apprentices grow into the foundation of our future in medical imaging. Congratulations on your success and the bright future ahead!

IIn honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision of a connected community, #UTSouthwestern joined in this weekend's MLK Fest Dallas 2025, contributing to the beautification and cultural enrichment of South Dallas. As volunteers, our community members united with hundreds of others to participate in a large scale clean up around Fair Park. Led by Shawna Nesbitt, M.D., Vice President Chief Institutional Opportunity Officer, UTSW aimed to foster fellowship and togetherness while honoring the life of MLK. This week, as Texas faced ice and snow, our hospital, UT Southwestern Medical Center, activated the command center to navigate the challenges. I was part of a great team effort that worked around the clock to ensure operations ran smoothly, staff were supported, and housing options were available for those unable to travel home safely. It was incredible to see everyone come together to keep patient care and staff safety a top priority. Proud to be part of such a dedicated team!
