Our primary mission is to protect the rights of USWNT players and to advance and safeguard the economic and social welfare of all USWNT players, both on and off the field. We are committed to raising the level of women’s soccer domestically and continuing to grow the game worldwide.

25 years ago, U.S. Women's National Team Players Association members changed the game with a penalty kick. Since then, they’ve continued to change the game on and off the field, including fighting for equal pay for women. On Saturday, the?USWNT's 1-0 win over Brazil averaged 9 million viewers across NBC and Peacock, making it the most-watched gold medal soccer game since the 2004 Athens Olympics. USWNT forward Mallory Swanson scored the game's lone goal in the 57th minute, leading the team to their eventual?1-0 win over Brazil.?The US never trailed in a single game during the?2024 tournament, becoming the first women's team in Olympics history to avoid conceding a goal through all three knockout rounds. The victory represents a monumental bounce-back after a disappointing 2023 World Cup — not to mention an early positive indication of new manager Emma Hayes's future with the team.

TIAA is proud to partner with the U.S. Women's National Team Players Association to offer financial planning education on how women can win at retirement, as part of our commitment to #retireinequality for good. We recently met with the players to highlight the importance of tackling their finances and preparing for the future. On average, women have 30% less income in retirement, so empowering these players with this knowledge is critical to helping them succeed. https://lnkd.in/e8gbvcuY

Last week, our Executive Director, Becca Roux joined Tobin Heath, Meg Linehan and Laura Biondo at Sports Innovation Lab's Women's Sports Club NewFront. The group discussed the power of culture in the business of women's sports. This event was the first of its kind dedicated to selling ONLY women’s sports media. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we are excited to begin offering free mental health care to our membership through Onrise. Onrise is a mental health care company dedicated to supporting athletes on their journey to peak performance and overall well-being. Through this on-going program, our members will have access to athlete-specific peer support, therapy and psychiatric care.?

Yesterday, 11 professional sports unions came together to host the inaugural Multi-Sport Players Association Virtual Career Summit. This summit was attended by 60+ athletes across the different professional sports unions to collaborate on the career development process and discuss the different ways of finding success and fulfillment in a post-playing career. The summit consisted of panel discussions and networking opportunities among current and former athletes, business leaders, and experts in the professional development space. The 11 professional sports unions involved in the summit include the NBPA, Major League Baseball Players Association, MLS Players Association, NHLPA, Canadian Football League Players Association (CFLPA), U.S. Women's National Team Players Association, WNBPA (Women’s National Basketball Players Association), NFL Players Association, USL Players Association, Next Gen Basketball Players Union (NGBPU), and the National Women's Soccer League Players Association (NWSLPA).
