We’re thrilled to kick off our member spotlight series by featuring the incredible work of AlexRenew's RiverRenew initiative! As the largest infrastructure project in Alexandria, VA’s history, RiverRenew will prevent millions of gallons of combined sewage from polluting our precious waterways each year. Throughout this work, AlexRenew has made a commitment to engaging the community in a variety of ways, from the creation of a local stakeholder advisory group, to regular "sip-and-see" informational events and site tours, to the creation of a children's book explaining the project process and its benefits. This week at the Water in the West Symposium in Denver, Mindy Bridges, Manager of State Policy and Government Affairs, moderated a session on state water planning as a pathway for collaboration. It was great connecting and collaborating with our members—including Denver Water, City of Fort Collins Utilities, Virridy, and, of course, Colorado State University and the Colorado Water Center's water fellows. Proud to see Alliance member Denver Water step up as a water sector leader in the push for #NetZero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030! ??

This week, we joined the Hill Country Alliance, Texas Living Waters, City of Boerne, and HEADWATERS AT THE COMAL for "One Water In the Texas Hill Country"—an inspiring gathering of water leaders held in New Braunfels. The day included a tour of the Headwaters of the Comal, where One Water strategies are being leveraged to protect the precious Comal River and demonstrate the value and potential of water resources to the community. We also heard insights from the City’s of Boerne’s One Water Roadmap development process and learned how major cities are promoting One Water strategies through partnership with the development community. One Water strategies and solutions are essential tools for stewarding critical water resources, especially in water-scarce places like Texas. A heartfelt thank you to all the water leaders and partners who helped orchestrate such a successful event!
