Meet Mihaela Codreanu, a Staff Pro at the #USTANationalCampus! Before joining the coaching staff, Mihaela began her coaching journey in 2015 and became officially a USPTR Certified Professional in 2022. During their junior career, she competed in the USTA junior circuits, including national events like the Hard Courts in San Diego and the Clay Court Championships in Memphis. A standout competitor in college, she played at the top of the lineup in both singles and doubles for two NCAA Division I teams, bringing a wealth of competitive experience to the court. In addition to coaching the High-Performance program, Mihaela also supports the Youth Pathway, guiding young players through each stage of their development. With a master’s in applied psychology, she enhances her coaching by conducting mental skills sessions, focusing on building resilience and mental toughness to help players reach their full potential. Now at the USTA National Campus, she is dedicated to enhancing player performance through personalized on-court training, thoughtful lesson planning, and identifying key areas for development.

Growing the Game ?? Senior Director Racquet Sports Development USTA National Campus ?? Racquet Fuel Podcast ?? Developing People ??
This past week, we made a valuable investment in the development of our USTA National Campus teaching pros and leadership team. Steven Host. RSPA, PTR, USTA High Performance, ITPA. PPR and I had the privilege of hosting Oivind Sorvald and Espen Foss from the Norwegian Tennis Federation for an impactful two-day training session. The experience was transformative, leaving a lasting impression on everyone involved. What made this collaboration even more special was how it all came together. A spontaneous dinner with Brian Parkkonen and ?ivind in NYC during the US Open sparked a conversation that grew into a meaningful friendship, ultimately leading to this visit. Over that dinner, we dug into coaching philosophies, the challenge of getting more people to play tennis, and rethinking the traditional approach of tennis lessons vs. play based learning. We explored a crucial question: How can we get people playing right away, instead of requiring endless lessons before they can enjoy the game? This is one of the aspects I truly love about our industry, the ability to connect with passionate advocates of our sport and collaborate to drive positive change. A heartfelt thank you to ?ivind and Espen for your passion, dedication, and for being incredible people. Your contributions made a significant impact on our team.

Excited to share highlights from the 2024 Supplier Diversity Matchmaking Expo at the #USTANationalCampus! This event was a fantastic opportunity for certified minority-owned businesses to connect with key players across public and private sectors, explore contracting possibilities, and gain insights into the minority business certification process. A big thank you to the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando for their dedication to empowering our community through commerce, coaching, and connection.
