My name is Michael Boutros and I moved to Miami last summer begin my journey as a student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where I am enrolled in their dual degree MD/MBA program with the Herbert Business School. I grew up in Toledo, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University in Columbus where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Fisher College of Business with a biology minor and completed the pre-medicine track. I really enjoy living an active lifestyle, experimenting with new technology, and traveling. Both of my parents are immigrants and work in healthcare. Between my two parents and their siblings, there are 8 doctors spread across the US, Syria, and Germany. From a young age, I enjoyed technology and knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. To this day, I am constantly adding new business ideas to the notes app in my phone. As I grew up, I realized that I had a special talent for interacting with people and building many different pieces into a cohesive unit. Thus, business management was an obvious choice. However, like the rest of my family, I was also bitten by the healthcare bug. My love for science and the ability to combine my entrepreneurial side with the opportunity to make a true difference is what has led me to this point in my medical and business educations. In the last year, artificial intelligence has transformed the way everyone, especially those in my generation, have interacted with their personal devices. It has opened doors to the formation of countless new industries. As medical students, we saw a need for a more inclusive way to give pediatric patients a voice in their healthcare. The idea of utilizing our combined medical and business knowledge with rapidly improving AI technology through an innovative and creative outlet led to the creation of Care Tales. We are so excited and grateful to be a part of USTAAR!

Hi! My name is Aaron Fils.?I grew up in Boca Raton and went to UM for Undergrad. I majored in Biomedical Engineering and Minored in theater arts. As part of our Senior Design Project, we came up with the idea for objective concussion diagnosis using only the technology in a smartphone. Now I am a fourth year medical student at UM and plan to pursue general surgery for my residency. I enjoyed technical theater where I was involved in stage managing shows in high school and working as a carpenter during ring theater. I like to say that if you see me on stage then i’ve done something very wrong!

Hi! I am Jason Greenfield. I grew up in Boca Raton and completed my undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis. I'm now in a combined MD MBA program at the University of Miami. The goal of our ForevisionAI is to leverage artificial intelligence to improve access to the diagnosis of common eye conditions worldwide such as dry eye disease and cataracts, among others. I'm a big tennis and pickleball player. Fun fact about me is that I love electronic sound production and DJ mixing. I have two goldendoodles and my preference is big dogs > small dogs.

My name is Michael Garcia, and I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami's Biomedical Engineering Department in 2021. Currently, I am a medical student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, set to graduate in 2025. As a proud Cuban-American, I am passionate about promoting diversity and merging my engineering expertise with direct patient care. I aspire to make significant contributions to the field of biomedical device creation, combining my background in medicine and engineering to positively impact patient care. I am excited to share more about EndoAdvance, a project I have co-founded with my sister Ashley Garcia. EndoAdvance is a mechanically-assist device designed to attach to the cap of the biopsy channel of an endoscope or colonoscope. With EndoAdvance, we aim to reduce the time required to thread instruments through the biopsy channel. On a lighter note, here's a fun fact about me: I once did a homestay in Japan, which was an incredible cultural experience. Immersing myself in Japanese culture not only broadened my perspective but also instilled a deep appreciation for the importance of cultural diversity and exchange. My name is Dillon Abend, and I'm currently a Senior at the Miami Herbert Business School. My startup is 3rd-i Technology, a revolutionary safety app launching in Spring 2024. I enjoy tinkering and creating cool safety products centered around LEDs to solve issues I encounter in my daily life. I enjoy golfing, exercising, and learning.

Hello/Hola/Namaste, I am Shruti Choudhary, PhD candidate in the Dept of Chemical Environmental and Materials Engineering. I believe that solving global challenges requires interdisciplinary knowledge and that is why my thesis is all about the development of next generation aerosol sensors for health and safety in indoor, outdoor and space environments. My journey with Smart Aerosol Technologies (SmArT) LLC is inspired from my maternal ( business tycoon) and paternal (Teacher and Farmer) grandpas. SmArT (www.smartaerosoltech.com) promotes precision and sustainable agriculture using nano fertilizer technology by increasing crop yield, reducing fertilizer runoff in the environment. Our vision is to revolutionize agriculture through sustainable nanotechnology, enabling a future of abundant, healthy food production that is environmentally responsible and economically beneficial for farmers. My tiny tradition and fun facts are -? So far, I have spent my 20s birthdays in cities that I have never visited before. I was the district level chess champion in middle school in India.

My name is Dhananjay Narayanan, I grew up in South Florida and pursued my undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, where I specialized in healthcare management and policy within the business school. Now, as an incoming second-year student at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, I am eager to positively impact patients' lives, inspired by my own experiences as a pediatric patient. Our startup, Care Tales, was born from a collective vision to empower pediatric patients by giving them a voice in their healthcare journey. Leveraging our medical expertise and business acumen, combined with the rapid advancements in AI technology, we create personalized, on-demand books for children with serious or chronic illnesses. These books are tailored to each child's unique circumstances, providing not only education but also comfort and a sense of connection. My life outside of academics and entrepreneurship is filled with quirky interests and humorous moments. I'm known among friends for my tech experiments, often developing new software programs in my spare time. I love playing soccer as well, and avidly support Real Madrid and Arsenal. An ongoing joke about me is that I have never having gone jet skiing, despite my Floridian roots, and it always brings a smile to those who know me well.
