The mission of the USTA Foundation is to change lives through the powerful combination of tennis and education. Using this powerful combination, we help serve up dreams for under-resourced youth. The USTA Foundation is a 501 c(3) charitable organization incorporated in 1994 as the philanthropic entity of the United States Tennis Association (USTA). USTA Foundation uses the sport of tennis as a vehicle to help under-resourced youth become more engaged in school and learning with the goal of succeeding in tennis and in life. To that end, we support programs nationwide that leverage tennis and education to help those in need, primarily through the National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) network. The NJTL network features more than 270 chapters that reach over 130,000 youth on an annual basis, providing free or low-cost tennis and education programming to the 50 largest markets in the U.S. - nurturing future leaders and enabling kids in need to succeed on the court, in the classroom and in life. We raise money to support these life-changing programs through donations and special fundraisers held throughout the year, including the US Open Opening Night Gala, Pro-Am Events, Fantasy Tennis Camp and by connecting with other philanthropic and strategic partners. Our efforts are making a difference. To date, we have awarded more than $64 million in program services, grants and scholarships to hundreds of programs, benefitting thousands of children and adults through tennis, education and health curricula. It’s the kind of difference that translates into more fulfilled and happier individuals and better, more vital communities. Your generous donations allow us to continue to assist in this great work. On the first day of the American Express Leadership Academy, our Chief Marketing Officer Elizabeth Rutledge hosted a fireside chat with National Basketball Association (NBA) Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum, and (USTA) United States Tennis Association Chief Executive of Professional Tennis Stacey Allaster C.C. to discuss what it means to lead with purpose. With the NBA Foundation as a new official partner of the Leadership Academy, Mark Tatum shared his advice for participants on how to drive change within their organizations. “You have to have a very clear purpose. In our case, it’s to inspire and connect people everywhere through basketball. When you understand what your purpose is, it puts things in a different framework that gives you permission to innovate.”

We’re still energized from our 2024 USTA Foundation Pro-Am at the US Open a few weeks ago! It was truly inspiring to witness the tennis community come together for our mission — bringing tennis and education together to create opportunities for young people from underresourced communities nationwide! The USTA Foundation Pro-Am is a shining example of how sport can be a vehicle for change, on and off the court. Big thanks to all who supported this year's event! This year, Raman Ananthanpillai, joined forces with the USTA Foundation to make the 2024 US Open an unforgettable experience for our student athletes. Raman, USTA Foundation Young Professional, rallied his friends and family together to support him in his commendable initiative, ‘Serving Up Dreams at the 2024 US Open’, aiming to raise funds to host students from eight NJTL chapters in the tri-state area. ?? Through his passion and leadership, over 150 NJTL students were able to attend the 2024 US Open, participating in on-court player activations and creating cherished memories. Raman's dedication to making a difference for young people on and off the court is truly inspiring. The USTA Foundation, our students, and our chapters extend their heartfelt gratitude to Raman for his dedication. His efforts have made a lasting impact on the lives of these young individuals.
