Innovation fuels success at Space Systems Command's annual Fight Tonight competition This year’s winners exemplified cutting-edge innovation: The winning proposal, sponsored by Space Base Delta 2, called Countering Space-Domain Camouflage, Concealment and Detection, the concept involves the fusion of multi-source Space Domain Awareness data and improves detection of hidden threats to space systems. Second place, sponsored by the Assured Access to Space program executive office, called LEAPS, the concept involves streamlining space launch operations with secure, end-to-end data integration. Third place, sponsored by the Joint Commercial Operations (JCO) Cell, called PRIMER, the concept involves an automated tool for narrowing operational queries, boosting efficiency in real-time situational awareness. At the #USSPACECOM AEE Fall Symposium, Gen. Stephen Whiting, USSPACECOM commander, emphasized the importance of partnering with academia in a broad range of fields – business, law, medicine, ethics and economics – to ensure a strong, adaptable workforce prepared to handle the challenges of the space domain.

U.S. Naval Research Laboratory and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) successfully completed development of a spaceflight qualified robotics suite capable of servicing satellites in orbit. ? “This collaboration unlocks new servicing opportunities for both commercial and government satellites, enabling usual-close inspections, orbital adjustments, hardware upgrades, and repairs,” said Bernie Kelm, NRL NCST superintendent of the Spacecraft Engineering Division. ? ?? https://lnkd.in/gfvjEPfa

She led a series of exchanges with the Norwegian Directorate of Intelligence, advancing the Office of the Secretary of Defense's and Office of the Director of National Intelligence's national priorities. She was also instrumental in the full integration of a UK officer into USSPACECOM’s Targeting Development Branch. Symone’s efforts enabled the USSPACECOM commander’s Strategic Plan Partnership. #ICYMI U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command's technical center team successfully tested a Black Dagger Zombie missile target to validate the effectiveness of the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor system, reinforcing the US defensive capabilities against strategic missile threats. ? “Testing these systems with realistic strategic missile targets not only contributes to winning the current fight – it stops future battles from occurring by demonstrating that their weaponry will be ineffective against our defenses,” said Justin Novak, Target Test director for the mission. “This increases confidence in our armed forces and allied nations to conduct operations at a time and place of our choosing.” ?? https://lnkd.in/gtTWgdfd
