The 2024 Sustainable Agriculture Summit brought together agricultural innovators to celebrate 10 years of progress while creating a vision for the future. As a partner in this milestone event, the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef was proud to contribute to and engage in meaningful discussions about sustainability. Here are a few of our highlights: ? Producers are at the heart of sustainability. // Producers continue to play a key role in sustainability efforts by leveraging innovation and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. Don Schiefelbein, past president of NCBA, shared that sustainability has always been engrained in the minds of producers, stating: “Our bread and butter is doing more with less and doing it a little bit better every single day.” The event highlighted how data-driven approaches — such as tracking herd genetics, improving grazing management and monitoring soil health — are critical tools for improving both environmental outcomes and operational efficiency. Mike Williams, USRSB 2024/2025 chair, emphasized the importance of bridging conversations between producers and industry partners by stating that in order to be successful when working with producers, it is crucial to focus on the “why” of what they can be doing to improve. ? Collaboration continues to drive progress. // This year’s Sustainable Agriculture Summit reinforced the importance of working together across sectors and generations. Whether it’s coordinating life cycle assessments to meet corporate and producer needs or uniting diverse perspectives, collaboration remains the foundation for achieving shared goals. The closing session, a panel hosted by MANRRS and Agriculture Future of America brought new perspectives, further demonstrating the importance of collaborating for continuous improvement — something for us all to do, together. #ContinuousImprovement #SustainableBeef #USRSB #SustainableAgSummit Samantha Werth, PhD
