CIGRE shall be recognized as the leading worldwide Organization on Electric Power Systems, covering their technical, economic, environmental, organizational and regulatory aspects. The National Committee of CIGRé in the United States of America is known as the U.S. National Committee (USNC). It was formed to provide a mechanism for U.S. experts to participate in CIGRé’s international cooperative efforts. Through the USNC, U.S. technical knowledge has been made available to other nations, technical knowledge from other nations has been provided to the United States.
