Working with weapons is different here than in the fleet. The Confidence Chamber is a training exercise at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command that helps recruits gain confidence in their protective equipment. The application is used to teach recruits how to don gas masks and to understand the effects of chemical threats. Recruits compete in Damage Control (DC) Olympics at Freedom Hall onboard Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. This event consists of pull-ups, weighted line heaving, sea bag relay, rescue carry relay, basketball, and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) relay.
