Thank you NYU Shanghai Center for Career Development for the opportunity to attend the S-Tron China (S创中国) x NYU Shanghai - TechTrek: Incubator and Innovation Company Visits. This was a valuable opportunity to explore cutting-edge technology incubators and gain insights into the innovation ecosystem. It was terrific to explore Shanghai’s tech and innovation scene. We visited ???????????????????? ?????????????????? & XNode 创极无限, ?????????????????? ??????, and Plug and Play China. We got an inside look at what navigates Shanghai’s tech ecosystem and connected with my intelligent classmates over some food and refreshments! I left this event very enlightened to share my ideas for a startup!

By day, Mai serves as the Operations Manager at the Korea Economic Institute of America, where she coordinates key activities and manages daily operations. In her role with NABEA, Mai will be the primary contact for partnerships and public events. She’s already planning an exciting event for April, so stay tuned for more updates! A seasoned traveler and scholar, Mai’s journey has taken her from studying abroad in South Korea to teaching English there before earning a Master’s degree in International Studies from Korea University. Her academic focus is on East Asian history, politics, and culture, with a particular interest in North Korean human rights. Outside the office, Mai is a connoisseur of the DMV area’s vibrant food scene and stays current with the latest dramas. ???? Black History Month may have ended, but our stories certainly haven’t. When the Dong family was turned away by discriminatory landlords, Gus and Emma Thompson, an African American couple, stepped up and opened their doors, setting the stage for a lifelong friendship. Decades later, the descendants of both families have come together to celebrate that life-changing act of unity. The Dong family has also donated an incredible $5 million dollars to Black college students. Their story is a testament to the power of standing together, even when the odds seem stacked against us.
