With Cake Cutting Ceremony Marine Depot Maintenance Command celebrated the Marine Corps’ 249th Birthday with a traditional cake-cutting ceremony on November 6. Col. Kirk M. Spangenberg, commanding officer of MDMC, had the honor of cutting the cake and serving the first slice to the oldest Marine present, Wendell Wilson, before passing it to the youngest Marine, Lance Cpl. David G. Fox. This annual tradition, observed by Marines worldwide, honors the legacy and camaraderie of the Marine Corps, which dates to its founding in 1775. #USMC249 #MDMCCelebrates RETIREMENTS CW04 Alan Thompson, who began his Marine Corps career in September 2000 at recruit training on Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., retired on Nov. 6 after 24 years of dedicated service. Thompson was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class upon completion of training. Throughout his career, CWO4 Thompson has been recognized with numerous personal decorations, including two Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, and three Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. His educational achievements include an Associate of Arts in General Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Logistics Management, and a Master’s in Supply Chain Management. #MissionComplete #24YearsOfService PROMOTIONS/RECOGNITIONS Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow-Yermo, 1st Force Storage Battalion, proudly recognized two outstanding Marines and a dedicated civilian employee for their service on Nov. 1. Cpl. Luis M. Panzer, 1st FSB, MCLB Barstow-Yermo, was promoted to his current rank, recognizing his dedication and leadership within the battalion. Additionally, Sgt. Cameron E. Hardenbrook received a Good Conduct citation, accredited to his exemplary behavior and steadfast commitment to Marine Corps values. In addition to the Marines’ achievements, William “Pat” Dunham was honored with a Length of Service Award for 35 years of service, reflecting his long-standing dedication and invaluable contributions to the Marine Corps mission. WE SUPPORT THAT: Marine Force Storage Command’s Consolidated Storage Program (CSP) supplies the gear and equipment needed for large-scale exercises across the globe. Recently, the CSP team from MCB Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, supplied tents and deployed a four-person CSP contact team to support CLC-33 and the U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division during Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC 25-01) at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
