Yesterday, the Student Managed Investment Fund kicked off the school year with its first stock pitch, showcasing the hard work and professionalism of our students. Three teams delivered compelling buy recommendations for different stocks, impressing a panel of industry judges. ?? This year marks a significant milestone for the program, with the largest class size in its history. We now have six teams actively managing the fund’s portfolio, three of which will present buy recommendations to a panel of judges on pitch day while the other three teams are focused on producing detailed sell recommendation reports, working behind the scenes as part of a broader strategy to actively manage the portfolio. Each team’s work reflects a deep dive into financial analysis, industry trends, and risk assessment, all essential skills for aspiring investors. It was an invaluable experience that allowed students to not only showcase their expertise but also contribute to the fund’s long-term strategy. A special thank you to the judges who generously volunteered their time and expertise to provide valuable feedback on the pitches. We were also excited to see many students in attendance, eager to gain insights into portfolio management and the nuances of real-world investing.
