Student-run organization at the University of San Francisco School of Law

关于我们

The Women's Law Association at the University of San Francisco School of Law is a student-run organization dedicated to lifting the voices of our community and utilizing our unique and privileged position as law students to support the ongoing fight for gender equality, women's rights and reproductive justice. The Women's Law Association’s (WLA) ultimate goal is to create an inclusive community for the women at the University of San Francisco School of Law. The WLA seeks to foster an environment where women feel supported academically, professionally, and personally by their fellow members. USF’s WLA provides a variety of services and opportunities, including support for first-year students through a mentoring program, social, volunteer and networking events. The group functions as a space to engage in an informed conversation about gender specific issues in the legal field and in broader society. The WLA interacts with numerous women’s organizations, such as the Women Lawyers Committee and Ms. JD, to give students the opportunity to connect with legal professionals and explore career options. WLA members are encouraged to actively engage with the group and share their programming ideas, interests, and needs.

  • Hello Everyone! There is an exciting opportunity at USF Law--mark your calendars! Every year, the WLA runs the Trailblazing Tea, an event where we explore gender-related issues in the law by hosting a relevant panel and reception. This year, our topic is Data Privacy & Women's Health, focusing on the intersection of gender with technology, data privacy, and intellectual property. The event will take place on the evening of?March 14th, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the McLaren Conference Center at USF. Additionally, we are still looking for 3-4 speakers for the event. We are aiming to offer MCLE credit for the event; accordingly, we are looking for the speakers to share with us some educational materials related to the topic of the Tea and their fields of expertise, as well as their headshots and bios. We aim to have the consolidated panel of speakers by February 28. If you are someone who specializes in Data Privacy/Intellectual Property within the San Francisco Bay Area, or know someone who does and might be interested in becoming a speaker for our event, please reach out to us! Looking forward to hearing from you.
