??????As part of IPE Day 2024, USF Health students had the privilege of collaborating with an interprofessional team. The winning team included a pharmacy student, medical students, social workers, dietitians, PAs, and physical therapist for an iron chef style competition. Together, they developed a diabetic-friendly menu for a low-income mother. They ensured the meals were not only affordable but also met her dietary needs. They prepared mashed sweet potatoes (no added sugar), marinated chicken thighs and sautéed cabbage with the savory juices from the chicken. In addition, they provided resources to help her access affordable, nutritious food, including local food pantries and community programs. A true team effort to make healthy eating both achievable and sustainable for everyone. We are so proud to have had one of our very own, PY4, Jena Sempek, a part of the winning team!
