I’ve been writing software since I was a kid, and I have to say, what we’re seeing with AI-driven code generation is unlike anything before. It’s a genuine leap forward—one of those rare moments where the tools get so much better that they change the nature of the work itself. Back in the day, you’d spend endless hours coding the same patterns over and over in different languages. Every new project meant diving into manuals and learning things the hard way. It wasn’t just about writing code, but about accumulating all the little tricks and patterns that, over time, made you faster. But the problem is, much of that effort was pure grunt work—necessary, but not the kind of thing that pushes the boundaries of what you can create. AI and with it tools like https://www.usejolt.ai/ change that. Now, instead of being bogged down by repetitive tasks, I get to spend more time actually thinking about the problem. More time experimenting with different solutions. More time trying out ideas I never would have had the bandwidth for before. It’s not just about efficiency either. AI has turned into a powerful learning tool. These days, I can pick up a new language, throw together a working app in days, and let the AI handle the tedious parts. It's like going from harvesting wheat with a sickle to remote-controlled (autonomous?) combines. Not only does it free me up to focus on the real problems, but it’s made the process of writing software genuinely fun again. The real magic here isn’t just that AI is writing code.
