Advancing research to optimize medication use among older adults.
The goal of the US Deprescribing Research Network (USDeN) is to develop and disseminate evidence about deprescribing for older adults, and in doing so to help improve medication use among older adults and the outcomes that are important to them. Funded by the US National Institute on Aging, the network is a community of people united by a shared interest in improving research on deprescribing for older adults. The network’s key activities are designed to provide resources and supports that will catalyze expansion of the quality, quantity, and ultimate impact of deprescribing research, and to promote mutual learning and collaboration that is essential to this goal.

(fran?ais ci-dessous) The International Deprescribing Journal Club is back for its 10th edition on Dec. 12th 1PM - 2PM? ET! This next session, "Engaging inpatient clinicians in deprescribing: lessons from an implementation science approach", is hosted by the US Deprescribing Research Network (USDeN) and will welcome speaker Dr. Michelle S. Keller, PhD, MPH, assistant professor of Gerontology at the University Southern California. Dr. Keller will discuss the article "Identifying barriers and facilitators to deprescribing benzodiazepines and sedative hypnotics in the hospital setting using the Theoretical Domains Framework and the Capability, Opportunity, Motivation and Behaviour (COM-B) Model: a qualitative study”, with the objectives of:? 1. Describing how implementation science frameworks can be applied to design and evaluate deprescribing interventions. 2. Identifying effective strategies to engage inpatient clinicians in deprescribing practices, including overcoming barriers and leveraging facilitators for behavior change.
