    76.5% of creators made more money in 2023 than ever before ?? ?? And it’s only growing Want to make the MOST of what’s left of 2024? We partnered with LaShonda Brown to give you your cheat sheet for the top 10 creator economy trends you need to know: 1) Long-form content is back, baby! While short-form content is here to stay, 59% of Gen Z use short-form to discover longer content. Can we get a hallelujah?! 2) Platform payouts? Still meh. TikTok pays 2-4 cents per 1000 views. Ouch! This means you need some reliable alternatives to monetizing your content (*cough* memberships *cough*) 3) Live streaming is still ?? and the market is set to hit $416.84 billion by 2030 (which we are also particularly good at, just FYI) 4) Creators are ghosting algorithms. Without the transparency of how they actually work creators are saying goodbye to the rollercoaster relationship and leaning into owning their audiences more and more. 5) Netflix-style experiences are in - with 65% of streaming video enjoyed on mobile and TV apps, the demand for quality, accessible content is at an all-time high 6) AI tools are the new intern - they’re helpful, but don’t let them run the show! 7) And speaking of AI, more AI content = tougher competition. So making things with your human brain and SOUL will be key to staying ahead. 8) Brands are finally listening to creators. It’s almost as if creators are more than just a channel for influencer marketing. We know, crazy right?! Creators are being pulled into the creative process earlier so their collaboration is more… well, collaborative. 9) Online communities = higher stability. 76.6% of audiences want to be part of brand communities, they want to feel part of something. 10) Companion content is essential. Repurpose, reuse, and recycle your ideas! When planning your next video, consider repurposing your content into another format, or creating behind-the-scenes content to accompany it. The creator economy was worth a mind-blowing $127.65 billion in 2023 and it’s not slowing down. ?? Creator confessional time: which trend excites you the most? And which one terrifies you? #videobusiness #videomembership #creatormemberships

    Ever tried explaining your membership only to get blank stares? ?? Or worse...the polite 'oh, interesting' that really means 'I have no clue what you're talking about'? ?? Here's the deal: if your audience doesn't understand your offering, they won't sign up. Period. But fear not, we paired up with Jade Beason to create your no-nonsense guide to nailing your membership messaging. And here are the 3 key takeaways: Step 1: Craft Your Value Prop (aka Your 'Wow Factor') ? Who's it for? (Hint: "everyone" is not an answer) ? What's the secret sauce? ? What mind-blowing transformation can they expect? Think: "[Your Awesome Membership] helps [Cool People] achieve [Superhero Status] through [Magic Ingredients]." But don't just think it, ink it! Grab a pen and paper (or your favorite note-taking app) and write out your value prop right now. Go wild and free, then refine it until it's crystal clear! Step 2: Flaunt Those Benefits (Show Off a Little!) List your top 3 membership perks, and now, for each one, answer these four questions... ? What's the cool thing? ? Why should they care? ? How often do they get this awesomeness? ? What's the 'OMG' result? Be specific! If you're stumped, imagine explaining it to a friend over coffee. What would make them say, "Wow, I need that!"? Step 3: Spread the Word (The People Need to Know!) ? Website: Lead with your 'wow', then dive into the goodies ? Emails: Drop as much value as you can handle, then just casually drop in how amazing your membership is and how they can sign up ? Social: Mix it up and be creative. While some folks are ready to commit, others need a little more time...and that's ok. Here's your homework: Pick ONE place where you talk about your membership (website, email, or social). Rewrite it using your shiny new value prop and benefit breakdown. Make it so clear and enticing that even your pet could understand (and would totally sign up if they had opposable thumbs). Remember, the right messaging attracts the right members! ?? Creator confessional time: What part of your membership messaging makes you want to pull your hair out? Drop your headaches below and we can handle them together! #videobusiness #videomembership #creatormemberships

    Enjoyed speaking ?? at VidCon last week alongside Jordan Newman (Spotify Spotify for Podcasters), Jon Youshaei (Youshaei Studios), and Renee Teeley ? (Changer). Our industry moves so fast, and I'm so thankful to be at Uscreen to witness it all first-hand. ?? Also, massive props to Jacques Keyser (the handsome British man in the striped shirt ??????) and his team at VidCon for executing a world-class conference. Last photo of me flexing the fact that I traveled with just a backpack. I'm going for the minimalist traveler ?? these days (for work trips only, Justine ??).     While in Lisbon, Joshua & I were able to grab dinner with Amir Shahzeidi (Head of Demand Gen at Uscreen) and his beautiful fiancée Olga. Not only did we talk about tech, we also swapped stories about operas and musicals as well. They both are multilingual and multipassionate and it was an absolute joy to connect!
