The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia arranged four sessions of the COPS Office’s Managing Bias Training for Law Enforcement training with the Atlanta, Fayetteville, Doraville and Rome Police Departments. The Managing Bias training goals are to reduce the influence of bias in officers’ interactions and decision-making, contribute to improved police-community relations, and increase officer safety. Dozens of officers from agencies throughout the district completed the training, which was led by national instructors.

NEWNAN, Ga. - Robert Purbeck, who hacked into the computer servers of the City of Newnan, a Griffin, Georgia, medical clinic, and 17 other victims across the United States, and stole personal information belonging to more than 132,000 people, has been sentenced to federal prison.
