OTI is proud of the work we accomplished in Ukraine in 2024, including coordinating with the local government to promote access to education for conflict-affected children ?? We look forward to further supporting Ukrainian citizens in 2025.
This week, USAID delivered the first batch of 3.2 million textbooks to young Ukrainian students. After Russia destroyed a major printing house, OTI supported the Ministry of Education to produce and deliver textbooks – ensuring uninterrupted education for 1st and 2nd graders.

Through OTI's Connecting Communities program in El Salvador, two women's groups—once isolated by trauma and divisions—are now uniting to create real change. The Miraflores Women in Action group from San Miguel welcomed the Chancala Women's Network from Mejicanos for a mentoring exchange. These women, some of whom had never left their neighborhoods due to violence, are now traveling across the country, connecting across five communities, and sharing strategies to combat violence and empower each other. Even in the face of division, Salvadoran women are leading the way toward unity and resilience.

As we step into a new year, we reflect on the incredible journey of the past three decades. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our partners, colleagues, friends, and alumni who have worked tirelessly alongside us to promote peace and stability in the last 30 years. This important work would not have been possible without your dedication and commitment. Here's to continuing our shared mission in 2025 and beyond — working hand-in-hand with local partners to promote stability, peace, and democracy around the world.
This week, to mark our 30th anniversary and celebrate local partners, OTI hosted an event featuring current and former partners including Hugo Arévalo Franco, Executive Director of Asomunicipios; Bojan Bo?kovi? and Rajko Bo?i?, co-founders of Exit Festival, and Raed Al Saleh, Founder and Head of the Syria Civil Defense, popularly known as the White Helmets. It was an honor to be joined by more than 200 of our grantees, staff and alumni, partners, and interagency colleagues to reflect on 30 years of investing in local partnerships to advance democracy, human rights, and peace across the world!
