Tools and Approaches to Learning for Better Development Programming

关于我们

USAID Learning Lab is a collaborative online space where USAID staff and partners share learning approaches across collaborating, learning, and adapting (CLA), monitoring, and evaluation to improve organizational processes and development programming. CLA, monitoring, and evaluation are fundamental components of the Agency’s operational model for planning, delivering, assessing, and adapting Agency programming: the Program Cycle. Visit USAID Learning Lab to learn about the Program Cycle, and to share resources, tips, and tools for working together towards better development outcomes! Learning Lab is hosted by USAID’s Bureau for Policy, Planning, and Learning (PPL), with support from PPL’s Program Cycle Mechanism. Contact us at info@usaidlearninglab.org with questions or comments.

?? New Blog Post: 10 Lessons from 10 Recent Evaluations – A Practitioner's Perspective ?? In my latest blog post on USAID Learning Lab, I share valuable insights from my experiences working on a range of evaluations, distilling key lessons learned from diverse projects. Whether you're a fellow practitioner or someone interested in the impact of evidence-driven decisions, this post is packed with actionable tips. Some Teasers: ? ??Balance is Essential – Striking the right balance between "must-know" and "nice-to-know" information is critical. Streamlining focus during evaluations, like we did in a multi-sectoral emergency response, ensures evaluations are actionable and focused. ???Context is King – Evaluations must reflect the local cultural, political, and social contexts. Tailoring tools to these realities increases their relevance, accuracy, and overall impact. ???Innovative Methods Can Bridge Gaps – Incorporating approaches like Most Significant Change (MSC) and Outcome Harvesting uncovers unexpected outcomes and can shape future program designs. ???Theory of Change Must Be Dynamic – A Theory of Change (ToC) needs to evolve based on emerging evidence. Making space for continuous reflection ensures programs stay adaptive and impactful. ?? Check out the full post here: https://lnkd.in/dKpnEqNB I’d love to hear your thoughts!
