Their historic victory over the Soviet Union not only secured a gold medal but also uplifted the nation during a pivotal moment in history. ? During their visit, team members Mike Eruzione, Buzz Schneider, Phil Verchota, and Rob McClanahan met with lawmakers to discuss the proposed Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act. This bipartisan legislation, reintroduced by Senators Kevin Cramer and Chuck Schumer, along with Congressman Pete Stauber, aims to honor the team’s extraordinary achievements with the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest civilian award bestowed by Congress. ?
