Mission-Ready Airmen from the 621st Contingency Response Wing, 621st Contingency Response Squadron work through the night to move cargo and set up operations during exercise Turbo Distribution at Westover Air Reserve Base. This exercise flexes the U.S. Department of Defense’s capability of rapidly assessing airfields and opening aerial port operations to move maximum amounts of cargo into any theater of operation, even under hostile conditions.

Teamwork in action: Service members and civilians from the 599th Transportation Brigade and 10th Support Group worked together at Naha Port Facility to offload equipment from a U.S. Army vessel, ensuring the mission continues to move forward. A Military Sealift Command-chartered container ship has returned from Antarctica after delivering essential cargo for Operation Deep Freeze. The supplies offloaded will cover nearly 80% of the station’s needs, supporting the U.S. Antarctic Program managed by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Read more: https://lnkd.in/gFvb6Wxq

Powering Antarctic Research For over two decades, U.S. Transportation Command has supported Operation Deep Freeze — the United States Department of Defense's logistical lifeline to the U.S. Antarctic Program. This mission ensures the National Science Foundation (NSF) can continue critical research in one of the most remote regions on the planet. It takes a Total Force team to operate in such extreme conditions. The 62d Airlift Wing and the 446th Airlift Wing fly C-17 missions across vast distances, delivering essential cargo and personnel to McMurdo Station. The challenges are unique, but the dedication is constant. Here’s to more years of delivering under pressure — and into the ice.
