The great thing about solar - it's nearly limitless in applications.
What’s the most beautiful or unexpected #solar installation you’ve seen? ? A key feature of solar is that it can be deployed pretty much anywhere so I’m always on the lookout for neat installations or surprising applications. ? Of course, there are rooftops, car ports, and farms but what are some of your weirder or more interesting installations? ? Personally, I have two… one fun and one functional. ? (Well, I have ~40 but for the purposes of this post, I have two.) ? The first is this dog paw and bone from OMCO Solar in Illinois. It’s a project developed for a pet treat company and stationed outside their manufacturing facility. The project used different kinds of glass to create the images, and I just think it’s adorable: https://lnkd.in/e6yUWfxB ? The second is a solar canal project outside of Phoenix. ? Water resources in the Southwest are precious and solar canals not only provide clean electricity but also help reduce water evaporation. This is photo is from a pilot program launched by Tectonicus Constructs LLC which proves electricity to the Pima and Maricopa tribes. More research is needed on the economies of solar canals but I am a sucker for cool duel-use applications: https://lnkd.in/eVQbtmiE ? So, what is the most beautiful/unexpected/interesting solar installation you’ve seen? ? I want to see in the comments ??
