This flag now hangs in our headquarters, a solemn reminder of the tragedy of September 11, 2001, and the purpose that drives our mission. It honors the 2,977 lives lost in the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil, including two brave members of the Secret Service family: Master Special Officer Craig T. Miller and Special Agent in Charge Charles L. Friend. Their sacrifice, along with all the others, remains a testament to the cost of freedom. #NeverForget #911 #September11

Last week, we partnered with Birmingham, AL, area law enforcement to inspect more than 1,400 point-of-sale terminals and remove skimming devices that steal billions of dollars from American taxpayers annually. “The number of illegal skimming devices and cases of EBT fraud continue to be an issue in the Birmingham area,” Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Service’s Birmingham Field Office Patrick Davis said. “Our proactive approach not only identifies and removes skimmers, but also provides businesses with useful information to help them protect customers from falling victim to this crime.” ??
