关于我们
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) is the oldest federal law enforcement agency, and we enforce laws and investigate crimes involving the U.S. mail. U.S. Postal Inspectors are federal law enforcement officers who carry firearms, make arrests, execute federal search warrants and serve subpoenas. Inspectors throughout the country enforce roughly 200 federal laws related to crimes that adversely affect or entail fraudulent use of the U.S. Mail, the postal system, postal employees and customers. To assist in carrying out our responsibilities, we maintain a uniformed force of Postal Police Officers who are assigned to critical postal facilities throughout the country. These officers provide perimeter security, escort high-value mail shipments and perform other essential protective functions. We also maintains a state-of-the-art forensic laboratory in Dulles, VA which contains highly trained forensic scientists and technical specialists. We are divided into 17 Divisions across the country and employ close to 2,500 professionals. Whenever we open hiring windows, we will announce them here and on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels. Congratulations to our 19 National Award recipients! Your hard work and dedication to fulfilling our mission are an inspiration to us all. Keep climbing, and keep reaching for excellence. #BeExtraordinary
One of the most important functions of leadership is to recognize good work. In fact, this is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job – recognizing excellence. Recently, I was proud to be a part of the Inspection Service National Awards Ceremony. These awards served as an opportunity to publicly recognize outstanding members of the Inspection Service, our partnering agencies, and to celebrate the successes we’ve had. During the ceremony, hosted inside the historic Stained Glass Hall at the William F. Bolger Center, we recognized 17 individuals and 2 partner agencies for their outstanding achievements and extraordinary acts of service in fulfilling our mission. Represented in the award winners were six of our partner agencies: U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia; Department of Justice Civil Division Consumer Protection Branch; Office of Special Prosecutions – Alaska; Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office; Alaska State Troopers; and the United Kingdom National Crime Agency. While we were able to recognize 19 recipients, there were many more who could easily have been recognized. My hope is that these awards will help to build a culture of recognition and inspire each of us to greater service. My sincerest gratitude goes out to our award winners, our incredible law enforcement partners, and the talented men and women of the Inspection Service. Thank you for all that you bring to our agency every day. #USPIS #national #awards #lawenforcement #leadership #recogntion #celebrate
