Excited to see that the FDA recently expanded the approval of Kisqali, a treatment for early stage breast cancer patients. Clinical trials so far have shown that Kisqali can reduce the recurrence of breast cancer for up to three years when used alongside standard treatments. Dr. Denise Yardley, Associate Director of Breast Cancer Research at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, served as a clinical trial investigator for the trials studying Kisqali. READ: The FDA has approved a new chemotherapy-free combination for non-small cell lung cancer. This therapy could open doors for patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC. According to Alex Spira, MD, PhD, FACP, FASCO, of Virginia Cancer Specialists, P.C., “Patients will now have the option of a potential new first-line standard of care with significant clinical benefits over osimertinib.
