Attention All Flankspeed Users! All NAVRESFOR users currently accessing Flank Speed Services from a Personal device via non-DODIN (Commercial Internet) connections must configure the Microsoft Authenticator Passkey for authentication by 01 December 2024. This requirement will only be enforced when accessing Flank Speed services via non-DoDIN (commercial internet) connections from a personal device. REQUIRED ACTIONS: In preparation for this operational requirement, users should proactively set up a Passkey starting today. Setting up the Passkey in advance will ensure users do not lose Flank Speed access and allow ample time to familiarize yourself with the new login process before Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enforcement on 1 December. Effective 1 December 2024, users who have not configured their Passkey must contact the Naval Enterprise Service Desk (NESD) for temporary access to complete the Passkey setup process. For detailed instructions on how to set up your Passkey and MFA, please follow the link below. https://lnkd.in/eUxpsgRQ Note: Users on an NMCI device working remotely will have to use Azure VPN to access Flank Speed after 1 December. PREREQUISITE: To utilize the Passkey as part of Microsoft Authenticator, Personal or GFE Mobile Devices will require iOS/iPadOS 17 or Android 14+ and have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled. Personnel requiring external access via personal devices, but unable to configure a passkey can contact the NESD for a Temporary Access Pass (TAP) ASSISTANCE: Contact the NESD Service Desk by Email at [email protected], calling 1-833-NESDNOW (637-3669), or via the Flank Speed Hub.

Re-enlisting from prior active service into the Navy Reserve at nearly 50 years old, Brett Davenport faced the challenge of integrating back into the Navy’s evolving landscape. “After being out for 20 years and then coming back, I realized that not only had the Navy changed, but so had I,” he reflects. “Being in my late 40s, my life was in a different place than many junior sailors and many of our senior leaders. I quickly realized that I could provide a different perspective about many of the challenges of Navy life.” https://lnkd.in/evdsiMGh

The Naval and Amphibious Liaison Element (NALE) is primarily a function of the Navy Reserve, with Reserve personnel filling roughly 98 percent of NALE billets, given the operational tempo of this unique work. NALE Sailors train in mobilization to billet (MOB to-billet) positions and generally deploy on 90 to 270-day orders, responding both to planned operations and emergent crises, including training exercises, freedom of navigation operations, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. https://lnkd.in/eJzyia94

As we pause today to remember those who served, let's also think about those who are serving far from home and family. Thank you for your sacrifice, for telling your stories and for inspiring so many Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, Guardsmen, and Guardians to follow in your footsteps. Your service, regardless of branch and length, secured the freedoms we value in the United States. Freedoms we enjoy every day. Thank you & happy Veterans Day, CNR 16

Attention Reserve Sailors! Many of your supportive employers have served, are serving or have strong ties to the military. Why not take a few minutes this Veterans Day weekend and recognize them for all they’ve done for you and our great nation. Did you know that you can recognize your supervisor(s) for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award? It’s simple and only takes a few minutes — go to www.esgr.mil then click on "nominate your employer!" To date, service members from all Reserve Component services have nominated nearly 634 outstanding employers for this prestigious honor. If you believe your employer deserves this recognition, then don’t hesitate to submit your nomination. Additionally, the ESGR Freedom Award is the highest honor the Department of Defense gives to employers for supporting National Guard and Reserve employees. The employers chosen for this award exemplify what it means to go above and beyond federal requirements in support of military employees. Go to www.freedomaward.mil then click on “nominate employer.” The nomination form takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Nominations must be submitted by Dec. 31, 2024.
