Extreme heat can be a serious challenge for military training, but Fort Benning is taking action! In partnership with US Ignite, the installation has deployed advanced heat sensor stations to provide real-time environmental data and improve heat risk management for Soldiers and trainees. This cutting-edge system automates heat monitoring, replacing manual tracking with a centralized Heat Risk Management platform that helps safety officers anticipate and prevent heat-related incidents. With 10 new sensors installed across key training areas, Fort Benning is ensuring Soldiers train smarter, safer, and stronger. Dr. Mojdeh Mahdavi commented: “The Heat Risk Management application standardizes, centralizes, and streamlines heat monitoring to improve environmental risk mitigation strategies and help the installation decrease the number of heat-related incidents. The application has been released and tested twice by the Fort Benning safety officers and endorsed for making heat monitoring accurate, quick, and easy.” ??
