More than nine million lead service lines deliver water to families across the US. EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule improvements requires replacement of these pipes within the next 10 years. Every $1 billion invested in water infrastructure creates 15,000 jobs. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law invests nearly $26 billion that can be used for reducing lead in drinking water. EPA estimates that the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements will help protect millions of people across America from exposure to lead in drinking water.
