  • Today, NETCOM leadership had the privilege of volunteering at the Thunderbird Dining Facility on Fort Huachuca, serving a delicious holiday meal to our Soldiers. This heartfelt tradition is more than just a meal—it’s a way for leadership to express deep gratitude for the dedicated and selfless service of our Soldiers. Their sacrifices ensure the strength and success of our mission every day, and this is a small token of appreciation for all that they do. From our NETCOM family to yours, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving filled with warmth, reflection, and connection.

  • Thanksgiving is a day to express our gratitude and thankfulness for the many blessings in our lives, as we celebrate with festive food, family, and friends. As we gather around the Thanksgiving table, let us take a moment to remember our deployed Soldiers, Civilians, and their families, reflecting on their commitment and sacrifices for our Nation. This year, as we enjoy this special occasion, we also look forward to the exciting transformation ahead in FY25. Our transition from infrastructure unification to becoming a unified network provider and total IT service provider marks a significant step forward in enhancing our mission support and operational capabilities. Let us all be thankful for our collective efforts and the progress we are making together. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful and safe Thanksgiving!?

  • The United States Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) successfully conducted the Global Secure Network (GSN) Operations and Maintenance Workshop on November 13-14, 2024, at NETCOM Headquarters in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. This workshop, a key component of NETCOM’s transformation initiative, aims to increase the flexibility, responsiveness, and adaptability of today and tomorrow’s Army. Participants included representatives from NETCOM and its suborganizations, such as the Global Cyber Center, all five Regional Cyber Centers, Theater Signal Commands and Brigades, and Network Enterprise Centers (NECs). Together, they engaged in collaborative discussions focused on four critical topics that are essential for ensuring a seamless transition and positive customer experience with the upcoming SIPR environment. The key topics addressed during the workshop were: 1. Global Provisioning of End User Devices (EUDs): Establishing best practices for the deployment of EUDs across the globe. 2. Integration of Existing Solutions: Evaluating the potential incorporation of existing solutions from Ft. Liberty, Ft. Eisenhower, and 311th’s Commercial Solutions for Classified into the GSN framework. 3. RACI Chat Development: Creating a RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) chart to align tasks, roles, and responsibilities among all NETCOM organizations that support various aspects of GSN. 4. Operations and Maintenance Concept of Operations (CONOP): Detailing the support strategy for GSN, which includes elements outlined in the RACI chart. An additional highlight of the workshop was an update provided by the Project Manager for Integrated Enterprise Networks (PM-IEN) regarding the design of the updated SIPR – Consolidated Security Suite (S-CSS). This briefing outlined the Army's strategy for transitioning from legacy SIPR top level architecture stacks to the innovative S-CSS framework. “The GSN Operations and Maintenance Workshop is a pivotal step in our ongoing transformation efforts at NETCOM,” said Mr. Patrick Dedham, Deputy to the Commander, NETCOM. “By enhancing our operational strategies and aligning our resources, we are better equipped to meet the evolving needs of the Army and ensure a secure and efficient network environment.” As NETCOM continues its commitment to operational excellence, workshops like these play an essential role in preparing for future challenges and ensuring mission success.

  • NETCOM Commanding Major General Jacqueline “Denise” McPhail outlined a new vision and strategic goals for FY25 during the Commanding General’s Global Information Update on November 13, 2024. More than just a rebranding, the Update represented a shift from a traditional Townhall format; it was an informative and insightful meeting that set the direction for NETCOM personnel stationed or deployed worldwide. Dubbed the Year of the Pivot, McPhail ensured that FY25 will be transformative, noting that NETCOM is committed to delivering secure and reliable IT services to the Army, enabling operations at scale in an ever-evolving landscape while providing a Unified Network based on Zero Trust principles. As NETCOM pivots from an infrastructure focus to both an infrastructure and IT service provider, it gains the strength, versatility, and flexibility needed to tackle the challenges of today and tomorrow. Other key leaders joined the Update to reaffirm that NETCOM has prioritized recruiting and retaining a strong talent pool for future operations as this transformation and pivot continues. The Global Information Update not only sets a clear path for NETCOM’s strategic evolution in FY25 but also reinforces its commitment to adaptability in an increasingly complex operational environment. As NETCOM prepares for this pivotal year, the focus on enhancing capabilities and investing in talent will be essential for meeting the demands of both current and future missions.

  • At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918, the World celebrated the end of "The Great War", World War I. For over a century, we have observed Veterans Day on the anniversary of this armistice. While Memorial Day is a time to remember those who died in the service of their country, Veterans Day is a time to remember all those who have answered the call to serve - past and present. Some, who have made the ultimate sacrifice. As we continue this tradition, we are steadfast in our commitment to uplift veterans, mirroring the positive influences they continually bring to our community, and to this Command. Together, let us thank and honor all our veterans for their service and commitment to our Army and nation. Please remember to take a moment to think about our deployed Soldiers and Civilians - and their families here at home.
