Representatives from all 18 lock sites in the District on the Mississippi River and Illinois Waterway have gathered to discuss current and future projects, safety topics and collaborate on all things navigation. Lockmaster Jeff Gibbs was also recognized for his incredible contributions to the District for his work at Lock and Dam 21 in Quincy, Illinois, as he was presented with the Civilian Service Commendation Medal by District Commander, Col. Aaron Williams. Gibbs plans to retire later this year.

  • Only two engineers left to feature for National Engineers Week 2025! Tonight we shine a spotlight on Lauren Plumley. Lauren is a Mechanical Engineer (DA Fellow) in our Design Branch and has been with the Corps for about three years. Lauren is motivated by learning how things work, which really comes in handy whenever she's presented with a new design challenge. She enjoys that her job gives her opportunities to learn new things and then to learn how to apply that knowledge to practical situations. #EWeek2025
