On January 11th, URounded had the opportunity to collaborate with QHSLS Key Club to host a virtual college mentoring workshop led by Alex Liew (Cornell University '27), Winni Zheng (University of Rochester '28), and Maggie Chen (Massachusetts Institute of Technology '29). Alex, Winni, and Maggie provided students with a comprehensive introduction to the college application process, covering key topics such as researching colleges, application platforms and deadlines, and how to shape a college application. They also shared personal insights from their own application journeys, providing a unique perspective shaped by their distinct stages in their college journeys. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to URounded for inviting me to speak on Tuesday, in front of the amazing students at Francis Lewis High School. It was a privilege to connect with the fellow students and share my journey with them. I am beyond thankful and excited to share that I’ve been promoted to Chief Financial Officer at URounded. On January 7th, the URounded Club at Francis Lewis High School welcomed a special guest to the club’s fourth meeting centered around Career & Major Exploration. URounded Keynote Facilitator Lauren Fang (who we're excited to announce has since been promoted to Chief Financial Officer!) led Tuesday’s meeting, titled "What is Accounting? Possibilities in Accounting", where students explored an overview of the field, career opportunities, the industry, and academic achievements related to accounting. Lauren, a junior at Baruch College - Zicklin School of Business in the Dean’s Scholar Honor Program, is majoring in Accounting with a double minor in Human Resource Management and Chinese. As an aspiring Certified Public Accountant and an Incoming Deloitte Audit Intern as well as Incoming EY Tax Intern, Lauren brought a wealth of knowledge to the session. Lauren’s expertise and genuine commitment to mentoring created an inspiring environment where students could envision their future in finance and accounting. Her real-world experiences and guidance provided an invaluable perspective for our inquisitive students. We are so thankful to have had our wonderful Chief Financial Officer with us! ?? This event was just another example of the incredible opportunities we offer to help students shape their futures, explore career paths, and build connections for success. Evelyn, a sophomore at Cornell University majoring in Information Science with a focus on User Experience (UX) and Interactive Technologies, shared her expertise as a Product Designer at Cornell Digital Tech & Innovation. During the session, participants gained valuable insights into key topics such as user-centric design principles, interactive and responsive design fundamentals, career pathways in product design, and real-world trends in digital product design. On November 26th, the URounded Club at Francis Lewis High School invited a special guest to facilitate the club's second meeting centered around Career & Major Exploration. URounded Founder and Co-Chief Executive Officer Alex Liew led last Tuesday's meeting where students had the opportunity to learn about various career paths, explore how to choose the right major for their interests and strengths, and engage with a successful leader who shared advice on career development, leadership, and real-world experiences. Alex cultivated an amazing space for students to learn about networking, engage in networking, and receive valuable personal and professional advice. We are so thankful to have had our wonderful Co-CEO with us! ?? This event was just one example of the incredible opportunities we offer to help students shape their futures, explore career paths, and build connections for success. URounded is a youth-led organization providing free, accessible education to all alongside an extensive package of professional development for inquisitive students.
