For Dr. Angela Google, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, it’s all about teaching students, not content. One lesson she hopes students can take away from her course is this: “I want this to be a space where they can see themselves in science and know they belong in this space.” Read about her teaching philosophy and how she incorporates hands-on learning to get to know her students and help them develop their identities as student scientists. https://lnkd.in/erdwjMUb

Marissa Ardovino is pursuing her master's in?Biological and Environmental Science, and has this advice for students: "There are so many opportunities to get hands-on experience doing research and/or fieldwork as an undergraduate student in this field. Try things out, decide what you do and don't like, and talk to professionals/professors about opportunities to expand on your skills. So many of my experiences in this field have come from asking questions and being willing to step out of my comfort zone to try something new.?It is never too early to start!"
