While some of Urban Strategies' work focuses on interventions, there is an equally important body of work that centers on prevention. Through Iglesia Segura, churches in El Salvador partner with agencies and academia to get at the core of some of society's deepest social issues today. We are deeply grateful for and proud of this opportunity to drive healthy change.
I am happy to witness a new group of people who got certified under our IGLESIA SEGURA certification at Urban Strategies, with the support of USAID and Arizona State University. We graduated a group of more than 550 people, with women ready to identify signs of abuse in their surroundings. Men who now know how to be allies with their families, youth who have the tools to establish healthy relationships with their peers, and church leaders who know how to hold their pastors accountable for any sign of abuse. Why this work matter?? The Impact of Low Psychological Safety leads to disengagement, as employees are reluctant to participate actively and contribute their unique perspectives. The resulting stress and anxiety can negatively affect well-being. Our firm belief is that our work impacts individuals and families and profoundly affects workplaces. This underscores the importance of our mission and the need for continued dedication to our cause. And this is just the beginning.
