Exciting news! ?? We've officially unveiled our brand-new Seed-to-Table Teaching Kitchen at the Urban Roots Teaching Farm! ??? ?? This project has been a labor of love since 2019, overcoming challenges like the pandemic and labor shortages. But now, it's ready to help us empower our community with hands-on nutrition education, cooking classes, and more. ?? From Little Chefs classes to gardening workshops, we're thrilled to offer a variety of programs for all ages. ?? Plus, the space can also be used as a venue for special events — urgc.org/host-your-event ?? Spring has arrived, and so has Savannah’s birthday! ???????? Savannah is our Volunteer Manager. Her journey has taken her across the country, working with nonprofits focused on conservation, sustainability, and community development. When she isn't rallying volunteers or enjoying the great outdoors with her big Portuguese family (one of six siblings), she is creating. Whether through illustration, painting, gardening, music, or cooking up something delicious, she pours her passion into everything she does. Today, Urban Roots joined Nevada Department of Agriculture, Nevada’s agricultural community and elected officials at Ag Day at the Legislature, where we shared our mission of hands-on farm-based education and regenerative agriculture. As we celebrate #NationalAgricultureDay, we are also looking ahead to Soil Palooza 2025 on Saturday, June 7. This year’s theme, ???????? ???? ????????????????, explores the direct connection between soil health and human health. ??
