We're discussing People-Centric Mobility and Logistics Hubs! This October, we're attending the session of Amber van Stijn (City of Amsterdam), Joris Beckers (University of Antwerp), Susanne Balm (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences), and Thomas Brauner (Logistics Initiative Hamburg)! "MoLo hubs, an EU-funded transnational innovation project (2023-2026), aims to tackle challenges related to urban mobility and logistics. It focuses on the development, implementation and assessment of logistics services at mobility hubs to reduce urban traffic. The pilot cities within MoLo hubs are: Aalborg, Amsterdam, Boras, Hamburg, Mechelen. During [the] session, we will share the challenges and goals of the project, dive into the Amsterdam pilot (servicelogistics hub) and share knowledge about the relation between mobility/logistics hubs, socio-economic and environmental values, urban design and spatial planning." See more information at https://lnkd.in/eDhXE_jx We'll be joining this session and many others at the 2024 Urbanism Next Conference, from October 09-11 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands! We're participating in an interactive session on which are the underlying factors of cultural, geographical and policy aspects and how to integrate them in CCAM design and policy implementation! This October, we're attending the session of Andrea Lucia Hauslbauer, Ph.D. (German Aerospace Center (DLR)), Anna Anund (Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI)), Edwin Mermans (Provincie Noord-Brabant), Guido Di Pasquale (PAVE Europe), Rebecca Marsden (Oxa), Stella Nikolaou (CERTH)! "CCAM solutions face a significant challenge characterized by decreased societal demand due to their difficulty in effectively conveying their advantages within existing mobility systems and adapting to the diverse environments where citizens live, work, and conduct their daily activities. On this panel, we reflect how cultural, geographical and policy aspects affect CCAM solutions towards fair and accessible mobility in European regions. The discussion will focus on the exploration of the challenges and barriers hindering the effectiveness of CCAM in relation to the above-mentioned aspects." We'll be joining this session and many others at the 2024 Urbanism Next Conference, from October 09-11 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands! Register to join us today: https://lnkd.in/gEzH-wSa

We're discussing How to Use Digital Tools to Better Manage the Use of Public Space! This October, we're attending the session of Alex Pazuchanics (Vianova), Bernike Rijksen (Goudappel), Daan van der Tas (City of Amsterdam), Marte Bugel (Delft University of Technology), Roy Korthouwer (Vianova), and Vasileios Milias (AMS Institute)! "Dutch cities aim for cleaner, safer, and more inclusive mobility systems but face growing pressure on urban space. The collaboration DRO-DMI: 'Digital orchestration of the use of public space' explores digital tools to better manage the use of public space in cities. This session outlines our public-private partnership and mission to redefine public spaces. We’ll discuss our design-driven approach and the double diamond process for identifying opportunities. By examining real-world initiatives enhancing walkability, we'll show how digital tools drive urban innovation. Finally, we'll explore collaborative strategies and long-term goals to shape the future urban landscape." We're discussing Climate Neutral Cities – Creating Multilevel-Impact in our Cities for our Citizens! This October, we're attending the session of Adriana Colquechambi zea O’Phelan (Democratic Society), Geiske Bouma (TNO Vector), and Matthew Halstead (TNO)! "Within Europe the Cities Mission on Climate Neutral and Smart Cities has gathered 112 cities that support this mission and work as front-runners to achieve climate neutrality by 2030. But how do cities and their ecosystems work towards climate neutrality? How should we put the needs of our citizens at the forefront of this? And how do we find enough partners and investment money to actually create this impact? This session will share thought leadership from cities, practitioners and researchers that work on the mission towards climate neutrality. Insights are built from the ‘NetZeroCities’ Horizon2020 project." We'll be joining this session and many others at the 2024 Urbanism Next Conference, from October 09-11 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands! We're exploring discussions from Back to the Future: Re-envisioning Oaxaca's Historic Streets for Multimodal Urban Mobility. This October, we're attending the session of Angela López Cruz, Diego Garcia Fernandez, Luigi Barraza Cárdenas, and Oliver Hartleben from Arcadis! Focused on pedestrianisation and biking and micromobility systems, the session will highlight solutions addressing the challenges posed by rapid urbanisation." "Led by a multidisciplinary Latin American team including architecture, urban planning, public policy, and sustainability, this session promises to showcase strategies, tangible outcomes, and valuable insights from ‘global south’ interventions. Furthermore, we will dissect the critical role of participatory design, knowledge transferability, and the integration of emerging technologies in shaping Oaxaca's future urban landscape." We're delving into What We Talk About When We Talk About Inclusive Mobility! This October, we're attending the session of Kelly Pronk (Vervoerregio Amsterdam), Marieke Smit, Matthew Bruno (Delft University of Technology), and Michael Tahoressi (Delft University of Technology)! "Both policymakers and academics have seen an increase in the amount of attention given to inclusive mobility over the past several years. Everyone wants transportation systems to be more inclusive but people often approach discussions on inclusive mobility with different ideas about what it means and how to accomplish it." "This workshop will have participants reflect on exclusions faced by certain people and certain groups. This will involve an introductory discussion followed by a serious game where participants will confront the transportation realities faced by many on a daily basis and relate that to a broader understanding of inclusive mobility." Interested? Register now to join us at the 2024 Urbanism Next Europe Conference, from the 9th-11th! https://lnkd.in/gEzH-wSa #InclusiveMobility #Urbanism #NewTechnology

We're looking at the Value of Space! This October, we're attending the session of Art Pearce (Portland Bureau of Transportation), Hans Quak (TNO), Luuk Meijer (TNO), and Joeri Jongeneel (City of Amsterdam)! "Logistics in urban areas, catering many demands such as e-commerce, has a negative image. Even though logistics vehicles increase pressure on urban space and have negative environmental and social effects, logistics is inevitable to liveable and vibrant cities." "This session will show that there are multiple perspectives on urban planning ('15-minute-cities' and mono-functional neighbourhoods), but logistics is inevitably present and should be integrated. The question we address is: how do we organise logistics in for a vibrant prosperous city, where space is scarce and demand for logistics high?" Interested?
