Gratitude is important. It can be a powerful tool for fostering positive emotions and strengthening relationships. At the same time, gratitude is complex, requiring intentional and authentic practice. At times, superficial approaches to gratitude can stir up comparison traps. Instead of asking you to reflect on what you are grateful for this season, we invite you to reflect on your personal growth over these past few months. If you feel comfortable sharing, we’d love to hear from you. #CallingAllChangeAgents #ServiceLearning #UrbanHealthProgram #UHP #UrbanHealthFellows #GWSPH #Gratitude

关于我们
The DC Metro Urban Health Program (UHP) is a public health-focused, service-learning initiative within the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University that provides students with an opportunity to translate their public health knowledge learned in the classroom into community-based practice within the larger DC community. This academic year-long opportunity offers students, staff, faculty, and community partners from various professional backgrounds and fields of public health study the ability to participate in meaningful and mutually beneficial collaboration centered around a common goal of social change.

Thank you, Geri Kemper Seeley, for providing us with the opportunity to learn about and reflect upon the importance of cultural humility in public health practice. Understanding the interconnectedness of anti-racism and cultural humility in service-learning projects is key to working towards social change in collaboration with our community partners. Your skills of simultaneously facilitating an engaging discussion on all of these incredibly important themes while also entertaining a future Urban Health Fellow are unmatched. A sincere thank you to Dr. Timothy Holtz and UHP Advisors Bhakthi Sahgal and Elizabeth Mason, MPH for joining in the discussion!
