  • Our Q3 quarterly impact report is now available on our website. Over the summer, the URA and our affiliates closed on 12 loans worth over $600,000 to boost our local economy. We worked on 50 different development projects over that time period and are anticipating over $2 billion of investment in those projects once they're complete. Every day we work to make Pittsburgh a better place for all of us to live. To read the full impact report, visit the link to our website: https://lnkd.in/e-qtV4dS

    • A partially transparent photo of 5 people shoveling a pile of dirt at a construction groundbreaking. Text over the photo reads "Quarter 3 impact report. July - September 2024." At the bottom of the photo is a tagline that reads "Here is the URA."
    • The photo shows a circle graph with a data point inside the circle that reads "50 projects actively managed in Q3." The graph shows roughly how many projects of each development use were managed. Mixed use and residential make up a little more than half the projects. About 10 percent are commercial and another 10 percent are for greenspace/recreation. The rest are split between stabilization, industrial, public realm, and "other."
    • The graphic shows a pie chart of the business loans and grants given out by the URA and InvestPGH during Q3. The URA gave out one loan of 300k and InvestPGH gave out 11 loans worth 385k. SMAL loans and emergency grants to businesses make up half the pie chart. A 2/3rds of the remaining half are childcare reinvestment loans and business expansion loans. The last slice is traditional commercial loans.
    • The photo is a text-based spotlight. The text reads "Residential Lending Spotlight: Standard on Fifth." as a header. The body text reads "The URA's Rental Gap Program, made possible through the City of Pittsburgh's Housing Opportunity Fund, advances the creation of new affordable housing and preservation of existing affordable housing throughout the city. Through this program, the URA invested 1.6 million in Beacon Communities and Uptown Partner's new Standard on Fifth development. This project will bring 51 new units. 40 of which will be kept affordable, and will bring welcome diversity and vibrancy to the Uptown neighborhood and the fifth ave corridor. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025.

  • Pittsburgh????? The city of champions has received $62.2 million in grants from the state to go toward capital projects across Pittsburgh. A few dozen projects from the Aviary to the Zoo and everything in between will receive funds to grow our local economy. URA Executive Director Susheela Nemani-Stanger, said “We’re extremely grateful to the Commonwealth and to our local elected officials for securing these funds.?These investments will support ongoing community development, infrastructure, cultural, and affordable housing work. The URA is proud to administer these funds on behalf of the Commonwealth and continue investment in our communities.” To read about all the funded projects in the city, like the affordable housing investments, community center investments, and more, visit the link below. https://lnkd.in/e2a8q-5P

Have you heard the news about Downtown? It's going to look pretty different in a few years! Yesterday, the URA's board authorized an additional $10.35 million to be invested in Downtown Pittsburgh development projects as part of an investment plan to transform it into a neighborhood where people live, work, and play. With these specific funds, the URA is helping fund the conversion of four different office buildings, like the Smithfield Lofts and 601 Grant St, into housing. Once all is said and done, about 1,000 residential units will be on the market and a third will be affordable for folks making 80% or less of the area median income. Over the next 10 years, we'll see nearly $600 million invested into Downtown to add green space, create vibrant and artistic communities, invest in the safety and cleanliness of downtown and so much more. With state investment and private investment from some of the city's largest employers, Downtown will be a place where people want to live and visitors come to see how beautiful our city is. Pittsburgh deserves a lively, 24/7 downtown, not just a 9 to 5 downtown.? Read more: https://lnkd.in/eMG-M3Ff

On a quiet street in Pittsburgh, there's a brand new house. 26 Mayflower Street is in Larimer where there's a park around the corner, a planned busway station for easy access downtown, and a growing business district. The Pittsburgh Housing and Development Corporation (a URA affiliate) worked with The Larimer Consensus Group to help build this home, and the best part is that 26 Mayflower St is affordable for someone making 80% or less of the area median income. For a family of four in 2024, that's about $80,000/year. The PHDC and the URA are dedicated to affordable housing in Pittsburgh. If you want to live in Pittsburgh, we want to help make it happen.

    • 26 Mayflower St. There's a young tree in the front yard along with some shrubs. It's a new build home.
    • A quiet street with cars parked on it. Tree leaves have turned brown or yellow, or they have mostly lost their leaves. There's a clear blue sky on a sunny day.
    • About ten people stand on the porch of the house. It includes the mayor of Pittsburgh, a city councilman for the district where this house is, URA and PHDC staff, and a member of the Larimer Consensus Group.
    • The second photo is of four people who are part of the Larimer Consensus Group.
