关于我们
We envision a New York of thriving communities where everyone has a place to call home. Since 1975, Urban Pathways has remained committed to addressing the complex challenges of homelessness and housing insecurity in New York City. Rooted in compassion and driven by a desire for positive change, our team provides thousands of people annually with secure housing, complemented by pioneering and holistic support programs. With a focus on empowerment and collaboration, we envision a future where every person has access to safe, affordable housing and the resources they need to thrive. Within our continuum of care, which ranges from Outreach to Permanent Supportive Housing, we meet each person where they are and walk alongside them on their pathway home.

??? Exciting updates ahead for Urban Pathways’ Ivan Shapiro House! Starting November 6th, we're beginning a major renovation to enhance both the common areas and private studio apartments. Since opening in 1997, ISH has provided a safe, supportive home for formerly homeless adults with mental health challenges. This renovation will bring modern amenities and improved infrastructure to ensure ISH remains a national model of community-based supportive housing. Together, we’re building a brighter future for our residents! ?? Our latest project, Crossroads, is taking shape! ?????Our construction team is hard at work, and the project is now 29% complete. We expect to finish the roof by the end of November and are on track to reach completion in March of 2026. Crossroads will provide 79 supportive and affordable studio apartments for adults formerly experiencing homelessness, seniors, and community residents. Keep watching as we lay the foundation for a brighter future, one brick (and beam!) at a time. To end the cycle between?homelessness and incarceration in NYC,?supportive housing must be accessible for people with involvement in the justice system. Current supportive housing criteria?disqualifies people in jail or prison for more than 90 days. As a result,?many people exiting jails and prisons enter into the shelter system—a cycle that can be stopped with tailored permanent supportive housing solutions. We need to expand supportive housing eligibility to include people with involvement in the justice system. https://lnkd.in/gMTYptFk "The Corporation for Supportive Housing estimates that more than 2,500 people being held on Rikers for more than a year could benefit from supportive housing, but are disqualified by homeless 'chronicity' requirements."
