To quote one of my favorite musical artists Darius Rucker, "when was the last time ya did something for the first time?" For me, that would be this week! I had the opportunity to lead a Kaizen event at one of our suppliers Urban Manufacturing Inc. alongside some great leaders from both Urban & GE HealthCare. We focused specifically on sharing our Lean culture & knowledge with them on a critical part process flow - implementing Standard WIP, Daily Management, and 5S across the shop. At the conclusion of the week, I also had the honor to get up in front of Urban's workforce to inform all employees of why we were there & how the parts they make contribute to our purpose at #GEHC to create a world where healthcare has no limits. Our Brookfield Facility's Swiss Turning Center of Excellence is adding capacity and larger part diameters to the overall Urban Capabilities Profile. We can now turn up to 43mm / 1-5/8" diameter. Adding capacity to our Swiss Turning Center of Excellence by bringing in 2 more Tsugami Swiss Turning Centers. These machines give us up to a 43mm / 1-5/8" Diameter that is now part of our CNC Machining profile and capabilities. Earlier this Month, we celebrated our Subsidiary's, Oliver Manufacturing, Inc.'s 1 year anniversary. A significant milestone in our book! It's been quite the journey launching this added #ProductionMachining & #ToolandDie Manufacturing Platform from its previous form - including many long hours setting up the systems required to make everything 'sync up' between our two facilities. However, we've found remarkable achievement in our team's efforts and individual talents that has met our previously established #Urban20Initiative - of adding Real-Value to our customers and growing our 2nd generation family owned Manufacturing Operations. Notably, the 85,000 sq ft of added manufacturing space has added further #ProductionValue and #ToolingCapabilities - as well as overall strategic partnering to our many customers. As of February, 2024 this added space now also includes #CNCPrototyping and #Onboarding Facility implemented earlier this year. More updates to come! https://lnkd.in/g3sp3JNF
