Built by Urban Habitat, the Whitaker Elementary School Park Project has been named a 2024 Public Works Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association (APWA). The APWA is honoring this project with its Project of the Year award in the Recreational & Athletic Facilities category. The APWA Project of the Year Award was established to promote excellence in demonstrating creativity, ingenuity, and efficiency in delivering public works projects that profoundly impact the community. We must recognize the working relationship between David Volz Design and the City of Buena Park's public works department. This award highlights the results of a relationship between the client, designer, and contractor, working together toward a single goal. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of something great. A milestone project- built by hand.
