There’s a couple hours left in the Thanksgiving food distribution in Walnut Hills. La Soupe, Inc. has brought the fixings for a full meal and dessert! Major thank you to them for their terrific work tackling food insecurity in Cincinnati.

Yesterday’s volunteer event at St. James garden in Walnut Hills yielded close to 100 pounds of fresh peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, and herbs - in late November! Many thanks to all the folks who came out to pick one of our last crops of the year. If you’re in the Cincy area and are looking for some low key ways to make new friends and acquaintances in a chill setting, consider volunteering for some of our garden events. You can be a total novice or an experienced veteran to gardening and still have a lot of fun and make an impact! Send us a note or register on our website if you’re interested. #urbangardening #urbanfarming #friends #volunteering #community

It's been a lot of fun working with the The Port over the past couple of months! Their team of property experts are starting to see the value our gardens and farms bring to unused or underutilized spaces in our neighborhoods. Check out this short explainer video for more context. Shouts out to Laura Brunner, Lindsey Florea, Amy Bancroft, and Chris Meyer on their team and for the great work they're doing across Cincinnati and Hamilton County!

If you're a leader in high-tech manufacturing struggling with financial challenges, join me on November 14th at MADE HUB for MFG's latest Think Like a CEO event where I'll be talking about cash management and navigating the modern funding environment. I did this presentation a couple weeks ago with Alloy Development Co. , so I appreciate Antony Seppi seeing the value of what I had to say and bringing me in to share the content with our local manufacturing sector. Cincinnati, and Ohio at large, have terrific incentives for high-tech manufacturers to thrive here. You just need to find the right partners and programs to make the numbers work. We'll dive into how to do that on the 14th. Register today; it's free! #manufacturing #ohio #jobs #jobsohio #redicincinnati JobsOhio REDI Cincinnati https://lnkd.in/gVeqCycU

This might not seem like a big announcement from the USDA, but it is. Today, they changed the reporting requirements for acreage of their crops. It used to be .0001 acres as a minimum reporting requirement and it is now .000001 acres or approximately a 2.5 inch x 2.5 inch area. That means those growing on small parcels or in contained units like our 20 foot and 40 foot CEA farms are now more eligible for these programs based on size of acreage. Don't say policy change can't help entrepreneurs, as there's about to be $1.7 billion dollars pumped into the system for food purchases in our schools, childcare facilities, and local communities at large! We’re one of three finalists presenting today for the Ohio Farm Bureau’s Growing Tomorrow Grant! The grant’s focus is all about sustainable employment opportunities and education in agriculture. We may be a bit different than what they’re used to seeing, and that’s why we’re bringing farming to our urban areas. Winners will be announced in December at their annual dinner. #ohio #growohio #sustainability #ag #urbanag
