关于我们
Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project 501(c)3 expands access to fresh, nutritious food and bicycle education within two New York City neighborhoods – Harlem and The Bronx. Our programming creates opportunities for low-income community residents in under-resourced areas to learn how to lead healthier lifestyles through food and fitness. We directly bring fresh, local food from Tri-State area farms to Bronx and Harlem communities. Our program runs from June to November, serving Williamsbridge (via Williamsbridge Square), Pelham Park (via Bronx Park), and Central Harlem (via St. Nicholas Miracle Garden). We tailor our outreach to each community to address their needs and help residents access healthy food through nutritional benefit programs. Operated entirely by volunteers, our organization is passionate about connecting residents with fresh, local produce and fostering a healthier community.

"The people have the power to make change... not the government, not the corporations -THE PEOPLE." - Black Panther Party Black History Month Spotlight: The Black Panther Party's Fight Against Hunger In 1969, the Black Panther Party (BPP) launched the Free Breakfast for Children Program to combat hunger among Black and low-income students. Volunteers served thousands of meals daily, helping kids focus in school and exposing government neglect of food insecurity. This grassroots effort didn't just feed children—it pushed for policy changes, influencing the National School Breakfast Program, which still exists today. The BPP's legacy proves that food is a right, not a privilege.
