This summer, Mike Burns (CTO, Upstatement), Jenna Fizel (Emerging Technology Lab Managing Director, IDEO), Anthony Quigley (VP, AI Systems & Emergent Technologies, SYPartners), and Jennifer Weeks, Ph.D. (former VP of Strategy, BEworks) met via Zoom for a lively, timely, and thoughtful conversation moderated by Jay Olman (Lead Data Scientist, Kepler). We’re proud of our friends and colleagues at Godfrey Dadich Partners! Three weeks ago, the 2024 Democratic National Convention Committee asked GDP to create a film on the theme of freedom. Racing the clock, the production team interviewed and filmed an incredible range of volunteers from all across America. American Family | A Film About Freedom, directed by Studio Platon and GDP’s Scott Dadich, premiered during the DNC, leading into Oprah Winfrey’s remarks. Giving a voice to regular Americans, the film conveys the stakes of the upcoming election in a fresh and thoughtful way. It’s been so exciting to see this work take on a life of its own. ???? Purpose is what drives director Amanda Smith. It’s something she’s found in her work at Public Digital, which she describes as “an organization where I can work on things that matter, fire up my brain with interesting challenges, and be inspired by working with the very best people.” Whether it’s partnering with Bloomberg Philanthropies or delivering a study tour for the women leading Ukraine’s digital transformation, Amanda embraces creativity and curiosity at every opportunity. She’s also been able to visit and learn from other companies within the kyu Collective like IDEO, SYPartners, and Upstatement. Outside of work, Amanda grounds herself through movement via yoga, pilates, and barre, and is training to be a death doula!
